Emoji Movie Soundtrack and Music from Patrick Doyle

Emoji Movie

Hollywood has released some strange movies over the years, but few of them match the idea behind The Emoji Movie. Only time will tell if Sony’s gamble will pay off, but at least we get some good music from Patrick Doyle with it.

Patrick Doyle Scoring Music for Emoji Movie

Sony Classical hired Patrick Doyle to write music for the Sony Pictures release of The Emoji Movie, according to a recent press release from the studio. Coming off his last job scoring the film Igor, Doyle has already written the Emoji score, though we will not be able to buy it until July 27, 2017. This is probably a good thing since Doyle is also writing the music for the upcoming DreamWorks Animation feature B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations.

The Emoji Movie Will Release with Its Soundtrack

Sony Pictures plans to release the film on July 28th as well, hopping it becomes a summer blockbuster.

Directed by Tony Leondis, the animated feature stars T.J. Miller, Anna Faris, James Corden, Patrick Stewart, Maya Rudolph, Steven Wright, Rob Riggle, Jennifer Coolidge, Jake T. Austin, Sofia Vergara and Christina Aguilera. Leondis also co-wrote the script with Eric Siegel and Mike White to give us a story about a world where all social media icons and smileys live. Basically, the main character emoji is trying to be a normal emoji and not a multi-expressional one. You can find out more about the film at Sony’s official website for it.

The Emoji Movie Film Trailer

The Emoji Movie is what happens when movie studios run out of ideas. From the trailer, the Emojis live in our phones, and go to work when we use them in our messages. It will probably do well with the kids. If you are an adult without kids of your own, I suggest waiting until the film is on Netflix before checking it out.

What do you guys think about the film? Will you go see it? Or will you skip this one? Tell me in the comments below. You can then read my other news posts.

  • I agree with Tina, I thought the same thing. But if we don’t take risk then we might miss out. I hope this movie does pay off for them.

  • At first I was thinking “really, an emoji movie?!” but after reading and watching the trailer I am thinking this could be pretty funny!
